Cookery Club booklet – Autumn 2010

When running a Cookery Club as an Extended Schools/After School Activity I like for the children to be able to show what they have learnt through the session. Saying that, children often don’t realise they are learning so many fantastic life skills when they are cooking! Sometimes feedback is done through chatting, putting post-it note on the Cookery Club listing a skill they think they have accomplished or through the booklets I have designed for the children to accompany a term’s worth of cookery.

These booklets not only allow activities for children to work on while they are waiting for their creations to bake but also allow peer assessment and extend their knowledge of food and cookery. The booklet is aimed for y2-y6 and can be easily differentiated if need be.

When using these booklets I have noticed a great sense of teamwork with the older children helping the younger children. A copy of the booklet I’ve used this term can be found via the link below.
