Ready for a new (short!) term
Now Easter, the Royal Wedding and what seems like a never-ending amount of Bank Holidays a new term of Cookery Club has started. As this term’s topic is ‘Inside Out’ we are going to look at foods that can be inside out (e.g. calzone) and what is inside fruit and vegetables. The great thing about this time of year is the abundance of great, affordable, fresh ingredients and these will be feature a great deal this term. The Cookery Club display (above) went up at the beginning of the week and is already being added to with pupil’s contributions.
While the schools were on a break I appeared on Andy Potter’s Loud-mouths slot on Radio Derby, which was a fantastic experience, and have worked with a major brand writing an article and developing a recipe for them. All will be revealed in due course. I also visited the Real Food Festival last week which was a great place to network with producers and exhibitors some of which I hope to use in the future.
It may be a short term, but there is a lot of exciting food related things to cram in!
