Day 3 – Summer Cookery Club – Sweet Making
Today was the last day of Summer Cookery School. In a flurry of icing sugar we made chocolate dipped strawberries, orange creams and chocolate mint truffles. Like previous sessions this week it was geared towards fine motor skills appropriate for 4-11 year olds.
The first half of the session was spent making both the truffle and orange cream mixture. After a short break we then set about cutting the orange cream into shapes, rolling the truffles in foil and dipping the strawberries. A quick blast in the fridge and they we were ready to box them.
The feedback from these classes has been great and every child has asked to take part next year. They have also given me some great ideas and requests (primarily, can we dip strawberries in chocolate again?!) for future cookery club sessions.
